When you move the pulley in the details 1 inch, the block is moved 2 inches. Why? I don't get the concept?

Why not simply try this experiment yourself, so you can experience the how the block moves 2x when you move the pulley 1x ? A small pulley is only $2 or so at a hardware store, and may also be available in your physics lab.
