I have the factory installed belt that I am putting back on. I am having difficulty getting it to go on all pulleys. I was not sure if i needed to do anything with the idler pulley to help out.

On my sears garden tractor you have to use a block of wood to hold the belt tensioning pulley forward in order to get the belt on the engine pulley. I wouldn't think that you need to take anything apart, you may need a third hand to take some tension
